We offer fishing charters with durations of two, three, and four-hour and family-friendly fishing trips designed for youth as young as four years old. STRIPERS ARE OUR PASSION

Two, Three, and Four-Hour Fishing Trips

We specialize in light tackle in-shore fishing focusing on Striped bass, Mackerel, Brown Trout and Bluefish (when they are running) along the Ogunquit and southern Maine coast, seasonally, May through October. We also fish for Blue Fin Tuna, and have offshore trips for Haddock, Cod and other types of ground fish.

The most popular trips are our two-hour and three-hour charters. These offer a great chance to enjoy time on the water, to catch some fish, and still leave you with the rest of the day for other Perkins Cove and Ogunquit adventures. Our lifelong experience fishing these waters tells us that the best times for fishing are around early morning and late day. But we catch fish all day, so let us tailor your trip to ensure your best fishing adventure.

Our charter trips typically start by leaving Perkins Cove to search for live bait. Once we get some in the live well, we are off to hook into the stripers. Live bait is one of the most effective ways to catch Stripers, but we have other options as well. Perkins Cove is close to many excellent fishing spots, and we can be on the fish in a short time.

Two Hour & Three Hour Charters are our most popular trips. These are ideal for adult anglers (or novices) and children ages 8 and older. For families with children ages 4 and older, check out our Family Fishing Trips.

Trip Length: Choice of 2-hour, 3-hour, or 4-hour fishing charters

BRING THE FAMILY - KID-FRIENDLY CHARTERS

Family Fishing Trips

Ideal for kids! One and a half hour or two-hour family friendly charter trips are scheduled for mid-morning and afternoon and are fun and appropriate for children four (4) years of age and older. This is just the right amount of time for children to fish and have fun out on the water. Fishing on our kid-friendly fishing charters is primarily for mackerel and small pollock. These fish are a blast for children to catch and are typically plentiful.

Salty Lewer’s Family Fishing Trips aim to promote youth fishing and are designed for parents and children to enjoy some quality time together on the water learning about fishing, boating, and nature. Capt. Bryan will Introduce fishing to children in a stress-free and fun environment to create last family memories of time spent fishing off the coast of Perkins Cove and Ogunquit.

Safety: We suggest life jackets for all anglers. All children under the age of 10 are required to wear a life jacket at all times aboard The Salty Lewer. Children and adult USCG approved life jackets are provided onboard. Or feel free to bring your own.

Trip Lengths: 1 1/2 and 2 hours. Not appropriate for youth under 4 years.

ECO NATURE TOURS

Harbor seal on the rocks of Boon Island, Maine

The Salty Lewer is more than Perkins Cove fishing charters. We also offer scenic coastal cruises for private groups of up to six guests. There is no better way to experience the drama and beauty of the Southern Maine Coast than from the water. Enjoy a ‘Salty’ ride along the beaches, rocky shoreline, and sweeping bouldered cliffs. Weather and sea conditions will allow us to choose the best route― whether south past Nubble Light off the York, Maine coast, north along the Marginal Way and past Ogunquit Beach, or out to cruise by Boon Island. On board the Salty Lewer Capt. Bryan will point out passing sea birds and marine life such as porpoises, whales and harbor seals.

Cruises out to Boon Island, located just 8 miles offshore, offer the chance to see harbor seals basking on and around the island. Trips south of the Ogunquit shoreline include passing by Nubble Lighthouse which promises ‘Insta worthy’ photo opps of the circa 1879 working lighthouse, described as a “majestic beacon.”

Custom Scenic Cruises: For groups seeking a little longer offshore excursion we offer coastal cruises tailored to your group’s preferences. Have you always dreamed of seeing the Bush Family Compound in Kennebunkport? Or have you always wanted to watch the sunset offshore sipping libations and chilling with friends? We can make it happen. Capt. Bryan is available to captain customized private cruises out of Perkins Cove for two to three hours. Contact us to learn more.
